Select 2024 and later model Jeep vehicles are available with Active Driving Assist and Hands-Free Active Driving Assist. These semi-autonomous driving systems are designed to enhance your safety and convenience on the road, and you can explore them both at Bob Brady CDJR.
Active driving assist uses a system of cameras and sensors to scan your surroundings to detect clearly marked lanes and other vehicles. The system then makes subtle but consistent steering adjustments to keep you centered in your lane and prevent drifting. Active Driving Assist can make long trips less stressful and increase your safety. To properly use the system, drivers must keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road at all times.
Jeep’s Hands-Free Driving Assist system adds more driving convenience and features. It builds on the same network of sensors and cameras and allows drivers to remove their hands from the wheel on certain roadways. It combines Lane Centering Assistance, Distance Keep Control, and Driver Awareness Monitoring to create a semi-autonomous driving experience. In addition to the primary system, Hands-Free Driving Assist includes the following:
Curve Speed Control: Monitors and adjusts the vehicle’s speed while driving into and out of curves in the road to keep you secure and steady. The system reduces driving fatigue, increases road safety, and makes driving more accessible.
Assisted Lane Change: This system helps you change lanes while monitoring the vehicles around you to prevent a collision. To use the system, activate the turning signal. The system will scan the area, checking the adjacent lanes and your blind spots. Once the coast is clear, your vehicle will automatically move you into the adjacent lane.
Lane Scanning: This system scans your lane and the lanes on either side of you to detect larger vehicles and adjust your position so that you are a safe distance away.
Head-Up Display: The Head-Up Display can show a steering wheel icon directly on your windshield, changing colors to reflect the status of Active Driving Assist. It glows green when the system is engaged, switches to yellow if it detects driver inattentiveness, and turns red if the driver continues to be inattentive. When the red light appears, the driver will be prompted to place their hands on the steering wheel.
