The Gladiator has two powertrain options, with the base engine that is standard in all the models being a 3.6-liter V6 engine that generates 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The available engine is a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 engine which produces 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. Both powertrains come standard with four-wheel drive. A six-speed manual transmission is standard on the Gladiator, and an eight-speed automatic transmission is available. When properly equipped it can tow up to 7,700 pounds.
The Gladiator Sport is stocked with several standard options for the exterior, interior, technology, and safety and driver-assistance features.
The interior features come standard with manual windows and door locks, cloth upholstery, manually adjustable front seats, and air conditioning.
Interior features are also paired with technology features like three USB ports, Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, 7-inch touchscreen, push-button start, satellite radio, and an eight-speaker stereo.

The Gladiator Willys Sport carries many of the same features as the Sport, but it gains exterior features like rock rails, 17-inch alloy wheels, 33-inch mud-terrain tires, and rear limited-slip differential.
The Gladiator Sport S pulls several of the features from the Sports, but welcomes power windows and door locks to the interior features.
The exterior features added 17-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, and power locking tailgate.
The Gladiator Willys takes its features from the Sport S and Willys Sport trims.
The Gladiator Freedom also pulls its features list from the Sport S, but it adds features like leather upholstery to the interior.

The Gladiator Overland carries over many of the same features from the Sport S, but does upgrade its standard exterior features list to include heavy-duty shock absorbers, 17-inch wheels, lower gearing, 33-inch all-terrain tires, locking front and rear differentials, rock rails, and an electronic sway bar disconnect.
The Gladiator Mojave shares the same features as the Overland, but instead of the locking front differential and sway bar disconnect it receives a slightly taller suspension that’s been tuned for high-speed off-roading.
The Gladiator High Altitude carries over the same features as the Overland, and it gains interior features like leather upholstery.
The exterior also adds features like 20-inch wheels, hardtop, LED headlights and fog lights, and side steps.
The safety and driver assistance features welcomed blind-spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, and rear cross-traffic alert to its standard list.
